Town of Sinclair

Sinclair, also known as T17R4, is a quaint community and unorganized territory managed by Aroostook County. It sits on the western shore of Long Lake and along the causeway where Long Lake feeds into Mud Lake, the next link in the Fish River Chain of Lakes, which makes it an ideal location for people who love the water. Most of the earlier settlers came to this area from Canada hoping to find better living conditions, and Sinclair was then known as “Le Lac a Menon.”

Today, Sinclair is a sportsmen’s paradise which yearly draws tourists for either hunting, fishing, site-seeing, camping, boating, as well as other outdoor recreational activities. The community has several restaurants and several camp rental businesses along the lakes to accommodate the influx of tourists throughout every season.
