Town of Madawaska/St. David

Madawaska, the “Heart of the St. John Valley,” serves as one of the Four Corners of the continental United States as its most northeasterly town, with a Four Corners Park commemorating this designation. It is situated on the international border to Canada, across from city of Edmundston, New Brunswick.

Madawaska is the industrial center of the St. John Valley and home to the international Twin Rivers Paper Company, and an exceedingly proud, hardworking and dedicated labor force.

Today Madawaska is a vibrant community of just under 4,000 people and which also encompasses the area known as St. David, an unincorporated village within Madawaska with its own post office. The shoreline of Long Lake extends out to St. David which maintains Birch Point, a municipal public beach and recreational area. The Four Seasons Trail, another recreational area in downtown Madawaska, is a walking trail system weaved into the community and natural areas within the town. It is also used for cross-country skiing, mountain biking and snow-shoeing.

Annual festivals and events held throughout the year in Madawaska include the Acadian Festival, Top O’ Maine Trade Show, Fall Fest and the Music in the Park Series.
