The Madawaska Historical Society was organized and incorporated August 7, 1968. The society was organized to bring together interested citizens in the preservation of the history of the Madawaska Territory and for the 100th birthday of the community of Madawaska, Maine. The Madawaska Historical Society owns and operates the Tante Blanche museum complex and Acadian Cross Landing, situated on Route 1 in St. David. Acadian artifacts are displayed in the museum, schoolhouse, and Albert house. Tour guides share the history of the early Acadian settlers to the area.
