St. John Valley Chamber of Commerce & Tourism announces appointment of new board members

June 10, 2024 – The St. John Valley Chamber of Commerce & Tourism is pleased to announce the appointment of several new members to the Chamber’s Board of Directors. The Chamber is  honored to welcome these community leaders, each bringing unique perspectives and invaluable expertise to further the Chamber’s mission of promoting economic growth and tourism in the region.

The newly appointed board members are Sara Desrosier: therapist/owner, Alternate Roots Therapy & Consultation Services, LLC at Madawaska Center for Trauma & Addiction Recovery; Dennis Ackley: store manager, VIP Tires & Service; Max Thomas: store manager, Hannaford Madawaska; and Linda Follis: owner, Mad Town Variety  

Their collective experience spans a wide range of industries, from hospitality and tourism to entrepreneurship and community development. With their diverse backgrounds and shared commitment to the St. John Valley community, they are poised to make significant contributions to the Chamber’s initiatives and strategic goals.  

The Chamber is also proud to announce the well-deserved promotions of several esteemed members of its Board of Directors. These individuals have demonstrated exemplary leadership, dedication, and commitment  to the Chamber’s mission, and their elevated roles reflect their invaluable contributions to the organization.  

The following board members have been promoted: Elaine Clavette: president, representing NorState Federal Credit Union; Sam Corey: vice president, representing Robert’s Jewelry; Tammy Nadeau: treasurer, representing Lajoie Funeral Home; and Sara Desrosier: secretary, representing Alternate Roots Therapy & Consultation Services, LLC at Madawaska Center for Trauma & Addiction Recovery.

As the Chamber enters this new chapter with its refreshed board, it remains committed to supporting local businesses, promoting tourism, and enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike in the St. John Valley.

Valley Chamber hires new director

May 20, 2024 – The St. John Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Jessica Blalock as its new executive director. 

Blalock brings with her a wealth of experience and a passionate vision for the growth and prosperity of the region.

In her new role, Blalock will spearhead initiatives aimed at fostering local business economic growth and development as well as tourism within the St. John Valley community. With a deep commitment to supporting local businesses and showcasing the unique offerings of the region, Blalock is poised to lead the Chamber of Commerce into an exciting new chapter, officials said.

Blalock said she is excited about her new venture in a position to effect positive change and growth for the region.
