Welcome to the Heart of the

St. John Valley

Welcome To The St. John Valley!

Nestled in the picturesque northern expanse of Aroostook County, at Maine's northernmost point, the enchanting St. John Valley shares its boundary with Canada's New Brunswick province. This boundary is uniquely defined by the natural divider of the flowing St. John River, which gracefully stretches from the quaint town of Allagash to the vibrant community of Hamlin. The residents of the St. John Valley are renowned not just for their warmth and hospitality but also for their boundless creativity and remarkable work ethic that defines the spirit of this close-knit community. They take great pride in their rich cultural heritage, with many community members being bilingual Francophones who actively embrace and celebrate their Acadian roots. This celebration permeates through various facets of life, including education, culinary traditions, lively festivals, and the everyday experiences that bind the community together. As such, this region serves as the vibrant heart of Maine’s Acadian culture, showcasing the unique blend of traditions and the enduring legacy of its people.
